Your files are not uploaded

When you upload an Excel file, a CSV, a PDF or an image to iLoveGantt, the file is read inside your browser with JavaScript. It never travels to a server of ours, we do not store it and we do not see it. If you close the tab halfway through, nothing is left anywhere.

The same goes for reading text out of images and scans: the OCR runs on your own computer, not in the cloud.

Where your projects live

The schedules you build stay in your browser's local storage, on your machine. There is no account and no database of ours holding your projects. If you clear your browser data, or open the site from another device, they will not be there: they are yours and they live locally.

Share links

When you share a Gantt chart by link, the whole schedule is encoded into the URL fragment — the part after the "#". Browsers never send that part to the server: it travels only inside the link you hand out. We have no way to read what you shared.

The flip side is that whoever holds the link holds the content. Treat it the way you would treat the file itself.

The two honest exceptions

There are two moments when something does leave your browser, and we want them understood before you use them:

• Sending by email: if you choose to email yourself (or someone else) the Gantt chart, the attached PDF and the destination address travel to our delivery provider so the message can be delivered. There is no other way to send an email. We use that address for that delivery.
• Usage analytics: we load two measurement tools, described below, that record how the site is navigated.

What the analytics measure

We use Vercel Web Analytics (visits and pages, no cookies, no profiles) and Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session recordings, to see where the interface gets stuck).

The screens that show your data — the editor and the review table when importing — are marked so Clarity masks them: they appear hidden in the recordings. We do not want to see your task names or your dates, and we take the technical step not to.

If you use an ad or tracking blocker, these tools simply do not load and the site works the same.

Hosting

The site is served from Vercel. Like any web server, it logs the requests it receives (IP address, browser, page requested) in order to answer them and detect abuse. That is the minimum technical logging any site on the internet keeps.

Changes and contact

If we later add a feature that sends data to an external service — analysing an image with a cloud AI model, for instance — it will be signposted in the interface before you use it, it will be optional, and this page will be updated first.
